One idea, several films

A CGI campaign is what a product film becomes when the idea is bigger than the product. Instead of one hero cut, there is a world the brand owns for a season, and several films made inside it. The economics follow: once the world is built, each additional film costs a fraction of the first.

Carolina Herrera's Refill Factory and the 212 VIP chess board are the clearest shape of it on this site. The factory is a place; the films are things that happen in it.

The campaign work here

Six pieces carry the campaign tag: three for Carolina Herrera (Refill Factory, Back to School and 212 VIP Smiley), Maybelline's Teddy Tint, and two seasons for The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (Festive 2022 and Fall/Winter 2019).

The two Marina Bay Sands seasons are worth reading together, because they show a campaign that had to work as film and as a physical installation in the same mall at the same time.

How a campaign differs from a commission

A campaign is a brief the studio builds a world for. A commission is work a brand came to Lioncolony for by name, usually because of a register it had already seen. Both appear on this site and some pieces are both, but the question they answer at the start is different: a campaign asks what the season should look like, a commission asks for something the studio is already known for.

Questions

What counts as a CGI campaign rather than a single film?

A campaign is built around one brand idea with several films made inside it, rather than a single product hero. Once the world is built, each additional film costs a fraction of the first.

Can a campaign include physical installation work?

Yes. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands seasons ran as film and as a physical build in the mall at the same time. 3D environments and installations is a related service.

Does Lioncolony work with brands outside Singapore?

Yes. The studio is based in Singapore and works with brands in Singapore and around the world, including Gucci, Carolina Herrera, Maybelline, BMW and Pop Mart.

How do I start a campaign?
