3D environments and installations.

3D that became a physical thing. A garden printed as a wall in a store, a mall rebuilt as candy, films cut for screens people walk past. Built in Singapore and installed for brands worldwide.

When 3D leaves the screen

Most of the work on this site ends as a film. This service is what happens when it does not: the render becomes a printed wall, a mall dressing, or a cut made for a specific physical screen in a specific place.

That changes the constraints completely. A film is made for an aspect ratio; an installation is made for a wall whose dimensions somebody has measured, in a venue with its own rules about what can hang there and for how long.

The installation work here

Four pieces: Sun & Sand Sports' Garden City, and three with Marina Bay Sands: The Shoppes Grand Tour, The Shoppes Fall/Winter 2019 and Year of the Ox.

Garden City is the printed-wall example. The Shoppes seasons are the ones that ran as film and physical dressing at once.

Questions

Does Lioncolony handle physical production and install?

The studio makes the 3D work and the files the build is produced from. Who prints, fabricates and installs has varied by project, so say what you need and it can be scoped.

Can one project produce both an installation and a film?

Yes. The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands seasons ran as film and as physical dressing in the mall at the same time, built from one set of assets.

What do you need from me to quote an installation?

The venue, the surface or screen and its real dimensions, the dates it runs, and the campaign it belongs to. Email dave@lioncolony.com.
